A Women Only Spa Retreat in the South of France

The Arc House

Once an 18th Century priory, the Arc House offers spacious guest rooms, some of which have twelve-foot beamed ceilings, exposed brickwork, and fireplaces.

For most of its long history, the Arc House was a priory to the local church. However, from the turn of the 20th century until 2000, it was the grand home to an old French family. Today, the three hundred year old building houses our unique spa retreat. Our Superior guest rooms have large french windows, antique furniture, and ornate fireplaces. Many of the original doors, tiled floors, and fixtures built over 200 years ago are still intact.

Our air conditioned rooms come complete with a double bed, comfortable chairs and a writing desk. All of our bedrooms are en suite with a private telephone and a TV/DVD player. The building is equipped with wireless internet access should you wish to bring your laptop computer. A laundry service is also available at a small extra cost.

Set in the quiet village of Monclar de Quercy, the Arc House is within walking distance of a post office, well stocked pharmacy, a bank, a supermarket, hairdressers and four cafés. Each week there is a small market held in the village square. Throughout the year the village hosts a variety of festivals, such as the Horse festival and the Flower Festival, to name a few.

Monclar boasts three beautiful lakes, swimming pools, tennis courts, horse riding ranches and miles of walking trails. Founded in the year 987, the pace of life in Monclar is calm and in stark contrast to the frantic pace of modern city living. During your stay, you will look in vain for the gulf that usually exists between locals and foreigners; the welcome that awaits you is warm and genuine.
